Posted: 11 Aug 2005 04:27:20 Below are some cases that could cause errors: 1. In file smarty.inc.php there is no string require_once( $_dir['layouts'].$_site['layout'].'/themes/'.$_site['theme'].'/custom_ settings.php' ); The number of this line is about 5 (maybe 4 or 6) 2. Maybe there is no file custom_settings.php in directory layouts/yoir_layout_name/themes/main/. 3. Or in the file custom_settings.php the array $_chat_color is missing or named wrong, that means that approximately 4th line must look: $_chat_color = array ( 'bg_color' => ....... and so long. |

Posted: 11 Aug 2005 20:32:28 Okay, got it working. You were correct, it seems there was a problem with custom_settings.php, I uploaded it again and now the error is gone. Also, I found I need to ignore the instruction in look.here.txt file which says to enter some additional code into header.inc.php. That code makes it all crash because it is looking for some files that don't exist ; db.conf.php & db.inc.php. Works fine without the change, as far as I can tell. Different question: Why can't I get back into the administrative panel that I used when I ran the configuration module (mysite.com/configs.php)? Was that a first and only time to access it? I know I am using the correct username and password (been checked and rechecked). I would like to get to that panel to update email addresses, layouts, etc. if necessary. Thank you in advance, Ray |

Posted: 11 Aug 2005 23:09:10 Delete the file look.here.txt. It was written for our webmasters and must not be in archive. Concerning the administrative panel: Try to use "forgot password" option. If it won't help we will try to delete your login and password to create new ones. |

Posted: 11 Aug 2005 23:55:13 I did use the "forgot password" and it confirmed I was using the correct ones. I even tried deleting my database and re-installing it. I see the configuration page only on the initial set-up, after that I cannot access it anymore. I enter username and password, after entering them, nothing changes, the login panel clears the entries and does nothing. I still see the login panel and the return to site link at the top left corner. It doesn't even say it was an incorrect username or password. Very strange... |

Posted: 13 Aug 2005 10:48:24 - Edited by: raybman "Then try to overwrite configs.php file, clear your database, and install it again." I tried your suggestion but it did not make a difference. I am not having this problem on my traditional site which is installed on the same server. I even tried using the configs.php file from the other site to see if it made any difference. Any other options? |

Posted: 13 Aug 2005 14:53:22 - Edited by: raybman The site is operating fine. Trying to access the configuration module after the initial set-up is the problem. Using the correct username and password is not the problem. Clearing the cache, re-installing the database, overwriting the configs.php file; none of these things have made a difference. It seems the only way I will be able to make any changes to the configuration is to re-install the database, which should not be the case. See above comments of mine. |

Posted: 15 Aug 2005 01:11:11 - Edited by: Admin Dear Ray, is the access to control pannel problem concerning only Adult Dating package, or version 1.0? |
| raybman Member |
Posted: 15 Aug 2005 18:50:02 It is only concerning access to the configuration panel of the Adult v1.0 site. Access to my configuration panel is available on my traditonal site and not having any problems. Ray |

Posted: 17 Aug 2005 04:11:58 Hi raybman It's very strange, but I have entered your site without any problem. It means that the problem is in your adjustments. Look, maybe cookies are disabled, then enable them and try to enter your account again here: www.alternatestates.com/configs.php, and write here please about the results. |

Posted: 17 Aug 2005 09:58:41 Yes, I have found it is a cookies problem. I recently upgraded my ZoneAlarm firewall and it has been causing some problems. Now that I know what it is I can make the necessary adjustments. I appreciate your efforts. Thank you, Ray |
