I cannot for the life of me get the home directory to work when I get the website first started, and Im going through Config. Im running Remote Desktop, so I know exactly where the home directory is, but itsnot accepting it. This is my first go at this thing, and its not a good start. getting close to giving up. Im looking for user friendly software.

I need a quick answer.

Ummm, what more details can I possibly give you? Im saying I installed the software into my web folder. Website runs great, MYSQL runs great, dating software isnt. I followed instructions,a nd when I get to the configuration part, I cant get past the first screen where it asks for the home directory. Keeps giving me a popup screen to specify a valid home directory.

I did register, but for some reason my name doesnt show up.

Hi greekdish.
You should specify the correct home directory. Maybe you forget to write slashes(/) in front and behind of home directory. For example: /home/yoursite_name/public_html/dating/

What server system do you have on the computer where you try to install our package? If you have Apache then follow the instructions above. If you have SSI then the directories specifies otherwise.

Im using the Xampp web server, which runs the Apache server. The real directory is C:\UGWebServer\xampp\htdocs\amm.....I installed the dating software into the amm folder. So when I try to set it up, I try to set it up as C:/UGWebServer/xampp/htdocs/amm/

Is that not correct?? And if not, from where should I start clipping off slashes, i.e, should it be /htdocs/amm/, or /amm/

Try this C:\UGWebServer\xampp\htdocs\amm\, maybe this will work.
If it won't work, write here and we'll think what we can do.
We don't know such package Xampp, and we don't know how it works.

I saw this on the XAMPP website...don't know if it will help or not.

"Put your files in /opt/xampp/htdocs and access them via http://localhost.

For example: You put the file test.php in /opt/xampp/htdocs then you can access this file via http://localhost/test.php. "

the right folder is : D:\EasyPHP1-8\www\dotsilver
when I write : D:/EasyPHP1-8/www/dotsilver/ it's refused...

Hi DGiless.
Please, disable jawascript in your browser and fill in the field of configuration form. In Home directory field specify this path: D:\EasyPHP1-8\www\dotsilver
