raybman Member	Posted: 30 Dec 2005 10:44:21 The installation instructions are incomplete. The necessary steps of creating several folders on your server space are missing. And this seems to be a recurring problem with people trying to install the software. Creation of these folders was mentioned in the old version, but somehow were left out with the upgrade. Create these folders: layouts/themename/templates_c layouts/themename/cache articles/images Permission 777 must be given to these folders. Setting up a password through the dotSilver partner control panel is another unmentioned step that I found is necessary to get the whole thing working correctly. But no mention of this in the instructions. If the instructions give more detail, especially the necessary steps, you guys will not be bothered by the same old trouble-shooting questions over and over.
.silver Admin	Posted: 2 Jan 2006 23:28:51 Hi raybman. The folders templates_c, cache, images already exist and you don't need to create them. Permissions testing is available during the installation. And in the Cpanel, there is a clear explanation of what is site password and how to use it right.
