I need some clarification on who is eligible for Silver status.

I understand a site administrator should get this level for testing, but how does it work for the site users?

What determines that a users gets this status and how long does it last?

I see here on this forum that some administrators are getting Silver status for some of their users. Additionally, I am getting requests from new sign-ups to be given this status.

Hi raybman.

Silver status is almost the same as gold. The only difference is that silver status is free.

The administrator of the site can get this status for his profile in order to check and test the whole system. But it doesn't allowed to actively contact with another members.

If you want to get this one, you need a good, fully filled profile with some photos attached. And it's lifetime, of course if you won't break the rules.

I understand that part, but as I stated earlier, my issue is:

What determines that a user (not administrator) gets this status and how long does it last?

I see here on this forum that some administrators are getting Silver status for some of their users. Additionally, I am getting requests from new sign-ups to be given this status.

Every member can get this status for his profile once in a lifetime, and it lasts for three days. The catch of this system is that the member gets all rights as a gold, but for three days.

Does that 3 days begin at submission or after profile approval?
Any specific requirements on the profile?

There is a button "claim silver status" in user's profile. After member uses this feature, he stands in queue and our administrators look through his profile and make their decision, to give or not to give silver status for this profile.

Now regarding the requirements:

We maintain high quality standards for our member profiles. So if you want to get free silver membership your profile should meet the following requirements:
1. Username should not be the same as ID or email;
2. Descriptions should contain at least 5 or 6 sentences of a quality, literate English text;
3. Upload at least 5 photos;
4. All profile fields should be filled in

You see, that if member wants to get this status, he has to amend his profile, making it better and pithy. By that the quantity of quality profiles is increasing with every new member who wants silver status, fastening the whole network in it's entirety.
