Posted: 26 May 2006 15:39:03 I don't know if its anything to do with DotSilver, however I'm guessing so?? I'm constantly stuck on the configs file when you load up www.thedatingden.com I still have all my database, but cannot access my site at all. Can you please let me know if this is something on your end, and HOPEFULLY not take over a week to respond??? |

Posted: 26 May 2006 23:02:13 Have you changed your header.inc.php or your configs.php? Looks like something has changed to make dotsilver think your site is new. Login into your configs.php and make the start up configuration and see what happens. |

Posted: 27 May 2006 08:30:50 Thats the problem. I can't log in. It doesn't work. It just refreshes the page. I've checked on all the files and to no avail. I'm afraid of reinstalling everything and then losing the clients I have. When you key in the url, it redirects you to the config. Then when you press go to site, it redirects you back to the same page. Then when you try to log in, it redirects you back to the same page. I'm not getting anywhere LOL. |

Posted: 27 May 2006 09:23:49 Well, after checking my database, it appears its been hacked. I don't know how, but someone had gone in and changed my password and username to something completely different. peterspence007@yahoo.ca - this was the log in. I have NO idea how this happened? Any ideas? |

Posted: 27 May 2006 09:39:39 I've got everything back, but I lost all my ads, which I now have to go back in. THere is obviously a security issue here. My login, email and password had been changed. I couldn't log in because of this. I had to reset up the site by going via the globals. Just in case this happens to anyone - the only way you can check it is if you access your database and look in dotsilver_admin table. There you will see if anything has been changed. |

Posted: 30 May 2006 10:24:29 Do you have more details about how your site was hacked? Was that a database penetration? Is it a shared hosting account? So far nobody reported security issues of this kind with dotSilver package. |

Posted: 1 Jun 2006 20:25:24 I don't know how it was hacked to be honest. It was via the database I think. They accessed my username and password, and was able to completely change everything in the config file, so when I went to load up my site, it wouldn't load at all. It is a shared hosting account, but with only my domains. I'm not sure if they accessed my config file - maybe they were familiar with the site? I'm not sure. The silly thing is the person left their email! |
