No, partners are not supposed to set the prices for membership, at least at this time. If public partner demand exists for that during the first months of paid mode this can be changed.

Right now we cannot give you any confirmed figures but the fee is going to be somewhat industry standard like $19.95 - $29.95 per 30 days.

That's not very good ! It's a fact that members are not issued from a standard level and it would be very clever for the partners to get this feature, same it existed with lovecompass !
One european / american site can ask one amount of fees which would be too expensive for one philippino or ukrainian site !
The payment for "one contact requirement" would be also appreciated !

Perhaps dotSilver can set a minimum fee, but still allow partners to adjust fees above that amount, doing so would allow a partner to create some tier rates. Being able to adjust for countries with economic struggles would be a very useful tool to expand membership.

$19.95 is about the average for the US. If the fee is much higher, the service would need to be comparable to eHarmony which is the higher end dating service competition.

I completely agree with anonymous ! Partners must be allowed to adjust these amounts ; they are the ones supposed to know better their own members

Please, clear up your points, guys:

What purpose should letting partners set their own membership fee have:

1) Affect proportionally earnings of partners involved in the money distribution.
2) Increase/diminish only this given partner's share in this distribution.

Waiting for your feedback

My point of view is to apply only second option : meaning that partners would be able to increase or decrease the share without being able to fix proportions and with one minimum amount fixed for dotsilver -
Also one pay per contact would be interesting and not only one fixed monthly rate.
I hope I won't be the only one to give advise and we will be able to find the best way for every body

How long before fees can be charged?
Dont worry to much about your own % cut, because if your system is adopted by more individuals, you can recover the low fee traders, who incidentally, will assist some of the other dot members by plowing more clients into the database.

Also, you should implement banners, so those of us that are ready, can begin functioning as a full fledged site.
