Posted: 14 Jul 2006 11:16:25 I have read that you ask some of my members to send a copy of passport. (real-dating.net/dotsilver and real-dating.net/adult) "Please, send us a scan copy of your passport, so we can identify your personality and activate your profile." It seems to me that we can not ask people to send a copy of passport. I have not found in our "terms of use" and "Privacy Policy" that we can ask about this and we can identify their personality. You may read yourself in our "Privacy Policy" "Everyone is welcome to become our member, post profile and find new great people for any kind of relationship. We do not restrict anyone from being a member of '.$_site['bizname'] " I think we can not outrage our own rules. so I am waiting for your explanation. |

Posted: 14 Jul 2006 18:51:15 Hello lerchik, I'm not a part of the dotsilver team, just another dotsilver member. I for one like this ideal that when someone is in question, they are asked to provide some sort of identification to verify they are whom they claim to be. Without certain messures in place, our sites would be over run with scammers and spammers. I've had new members sign up with profiles and pictures I'm certain were not real, such as ladies from Russia with professional model photos attached. The funny thing is that the scammers just leave and try a membership at another site. Real profiles and serious members will generally ask why and if you tell them they are appreciative of the fact you are trying to keep site secure for them. I like this security measure in place. I do think maybe the Terms Of Use and Privacy Policy could be a little more clear to members in regards maybe having to verify identity. But, I think these are guidelines for us from dotsilver, because the left them open for us to edit. If you are worried about this issue you can edit the Privacy Policy lang/lang_english.html file close to the bottom of the file. |

Posted: 15 Jul 2006 01:01:26 Thanks reval8r for support. Really, sometimes we ask to provide a copy of passport to indentify person. As reval8r says there are a lot of scammers and spammers and we don't want them to cheat our members. |

Posted: 15 Jul 2006 13:39:22 so it needs to change "Terms of use" and "Privacy Policy" and write everything clear that sometimes we ask to send a copy of passport. but I dont understand the sence . It is possible to pain everything in Photoshop and to send passport with professional model photo attached-:) |

Posted: 17 Jul 2006 01:23:53 Dear Lerchik, When we ask our members to provide a copy of passport, it's their own wish to provide or do not provide the copy. But sometimes we shoud do it because we need to indentify some of them. When our members send it, it is wery easy to recognize weather it is real or made by photoshop. Have you ever seen a passport with the model photo? :) In the next version we will make some changes in the "Terms of use" and "Privacy Policy". In this version we are not going to do any changes and if you want you can do it yourself. |
