Using advertisements was not mentioned as the way your partner site would earn money. I'm sure most partners here wanted to earn through membership fees, not advetisements. The are better site concepts to use if you are trying to make money through website ads, a dating site is not one of them. The "news" posting only claims partners can earn even more now. Since these are dating sites, what would a partner think? It took this forum discussion to get to the bottom of this issue, but only the few here involved are in the know. I would suggest clarifying what "free mode" really means and how money will be earned. Keep in mind, attracting more partners can help build the database, too, but if information is unclear and support questions go unanswered, then they will leave.

Have a look at big dating sites, they also place ads. At the _current_ moment you can earn on ads no less than you earn on memberships from your member base. From the first weeks of free membership this statement is true for several small, middle-sized and large partners that we have data from (including our own ones). This move gives you an opportunity to take advantage of your traffic more than you were able before. So you can gather memberbase to offer to your members later that they will be willing to pay for. You might want to change the dotSilver site so that it correctly informs potential partners that their income will depend on the advertisers on their site, NOT through dating membership fees as the site currently states. It is all very misleading and deceptive now. I don't feel confident with this program any longer. As "partners" we were not informed of any coming major changes. Changes that directly affect our sites and profits. One day... poof...this is the new deal...like it or not, too bad. That is not how partnerships are operated. Now I am expected to accept this disruption, change the site to accommodate the new business plan, and probably be surprised a few months down the road with a new change that I have no control of, nor any advance notification will send the site into another tail-spin. Another thing that is sad, at least from my perspective, is how few other partners have chimed in to discuss this issue. Maybe there just aren't that many out there or ones that really care. That behavior surely sheds light on the true status of this dating "partnership". I wonder if my postings has any coorelation to how, suddenly, my site has had all of my members disappear from my personals page...hmmm...coincidence?
Anonymous	Posted: 15 Nov 2006 08:43:46 I think that .silver makes big mistake with such politics. .silver you have really good partnership program and scripts and it is not simply co-branded sites. You have developed program when webmasters can make their own improvements of scripts and share it. You could attract many webmasters because it is new in the dating partnership. But you must understand that webmasters will not join you if they can't make money with you and especially when you always shows that you are boss and all must follow your decisions. And at the same time another dating sites don't stay on one place. And I am sure that they delope such partner programs like yours (and there are already several good co-branded programs). I have already joined one of them with one of my sites and even have profit with them. I am sure that your partners (by the way, really, where are your partners, why don't they take part in this very serious discussion ) are searching now alternative partnership program.

The most interesting that I have found which also turned me off from using this source is the number of misspelled word and incorrect grammar used by the ADMIN. I will continue my search for a more professional site...WOW!
.silver Admin	Posted: 22 Nov 2006 03:20:43 We are glad to inform you that we responded to wish of some partners to retain paid mode and modified the network engine the way that partners can set silver mode period length for their sites. Thus if you want to stay in paid mode, you can set it considerably short (for example 3 days), if you want to have "free site", you can set it longer like 1 year (365 days).
