My hosting provider does give an alternative though using cURL: Instead of: $file_contents = file_get_contents('http://example.com/'); Use this: $ch = curl_init(); $timeout = 5; // set to zero for no timeout curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_URL, 'http://example.com'); curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1); curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT, $timeout); $file_contents = curl_exec($ch); curl_close($ch); I haven't tried it yet because I wanted to get your opinion first.

Replaced all file_get_contents with curl_get_contents (27x throughout the code). The site seems to run okay but i'm not getting any thumbnails. They show up as grey area's. Could that have anything to do with it? To see the problem sexatic.com/index.php.

I mean everytime there is an earthquake, a flood, an oil spill - there's always a group of heartless people who rip off tax payers.
